5. Yes, Tevas are also stylish!

And sure, they look fantastic in those carefully curated Instagram posts. However, the reality of wearing them all day, especially when traveling to a place as diverse as Greece, can be quite different.
And in fact, even simple flats are not suitable for Greece’s cobblestone streets and uneven pavements. You definitely need something with more support and cushioning.
Overall, once you’ve tried climbing the numerous stairs on the Greek islands with unsuitable shoes, you’ll be looking for something more comfortable to wear. Been there, done that, and that’s why I’m sticking to my Teva sandals!
My favorite type of Teva sandals to wear in Greece
My all-time favorite Teva sandal is the Teva Verra. These are all-purpose sandals, suitable for sightseeing, walking on the beach and light hiking. I’ve owned 5 different pairs over the last decade, in various different colors, and I can’t recommend them enough!
These are my go-to shoe for most of my summer wanderings in Greece. I wear them with shorts, short skirts, long skirts, dresses… anything really!
Another model that I like is the Teva Tirra. These are a better choice if you are going hiking, as they are a little sturdier and have thicker soles. I used them on a 3-hour long hike over some pretty steep paths in Karpathos, and was very pleased overall!
As these are a little bulky, I think they look better in brighter rather than dark colors, such as this one in light orange. But really it’s a personal choice.
In fact, I find the Teva Tirras almost as good as proper hiking shoes, such as the ones I used to hike to Kleftiko Bay in Milos. They are definitely worth a try.
