Taxi strike in Athens Greece

If you are in Athens Greece on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 December, you will need to be aware that taxi drivers will be on strike. This will affect taxis within the city, and to / from the Athens International Airport.

You can try these alternative ways to get around Athens:

Welcome Pickups private transfer service – Unfortunately these may not be available due to high demand, but you can try

Athens airport metro – To get from the Athens airport to many areas in central Athens, such as Plaka and Psiri, and Piraeus, and vice versa. One-way tickets cost 9 euro.

Athens airport bus – To get from the Athens airport to several places in the city, including Syntagma Square and the port of Piraeus. One way tickets cost 5.5 euro.

The Athens metro – To move around the city. A one-way ticket, valid for 90 minutes, costs 1.20 euro.

Here are all the ways to get around Athens. Mind you, the center is quite compact, so you can always walk!
